    Paul has over 34 years’ of experience and expertise in the maritime industry. He has been in the Superyacht Sector for 16 years, spanning new construction, refit & dry dockings, operations and shore-side infrastructure. His most prominent achievement, as Owner's Technical Representative, was to oversee the design and construction of one the world's largest and most complex Superyachts.

     

    Aside from a wealth of experience in the Superyacht Sector, he held the position of Corporate New-Build Engineer, with Carnival Corporate Shipbuilding, contributing to projects such as Cunard's Queen Victoria, Diamond Princess and Seabourn Cruises. As Director of Technical Operations, for the luxury cruise brand Crystal Cruises, he held the responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the fleet, including management of a significant capital upgrade budget. As well as many years of hands-on experience at sea up to the rank of Chief Engineer, Paul served as Marine Surveyor with Lloyd's Register - underpinning his ability to add significant quality assurance to client's projects, at the early phases of steel construction.

     

    After 15 years of independent research, Paul established himself as a leading authority in organisational safety, shipboard procedures and human error. He has a number of international peer reviewed journal articles on maritime safety and served as an Expert Delegate to the IMO Maritime Safety Committee. He is recipient of the UK’s Merchant Navy Medal, for services to Merchant Shipping and Ship Safety Systems, and the International Superyacht Society's Leadership Award.

     

    He is a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Marine Engineer, European Engineer and International Professional Engineer. He is a FELLOW of the Royal Insitution of Naval Architects, FELLOW of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology. FELLOW of the Institution of Engineering Designers and a FELLOW of the Nautical Institute, FELLOW of the Institution of Engineering & Technology, FELLOW of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, FELLOW of the Safety & Reliability Society and FELLOW of the the Institute of Leadership.
