    About HUMARC

    HUMARCTM was established by Dr Paul Doherty MNM, and is a newly established consultancy drawing on a network of learned and highly experienced Subject Matter Experts - a network developed through decades of maritime experience. HUMARC's current engagements include Owner Technical Representation for a very large (+150m) new build yacht project and Technical Consultancy to a high profile yacht management company.

  • ABOUT
    Paul has over 35 years’ of experience and expertise in the maritime industry. He has been in the Superyacht Sector for 16 years, spanning multiple new construction projects, refit & dry dockings, surveys & audits, operations and shore-side infrastructure. His most prominent achievement, as Owner's Technical Representative, was to oversee the design and construction of the world's largest and most complex Superyacht.

     

    Aside from a wealth of experience in the Superyacht Sector, he has held the positions of: 
    • Corporate New-Build Engineer, with Carnival Corporate Shipbuilding
    • Director of Technical Operations, Crystal Cruises, Inc.
    • Marine Surveyor, Lloyd's Register
    • All seagoing ranks to Chief Engineer (Passenger Vessels)
    After 16 years of independent research, Paul has also established himself as a leading authority in organisational safety, shipboard procedures and human error. He has a number of international peer reviewed journal articles on maritime safety and served as an Expert Delegate to the IMO Maritime Safety Committee.

     

    Paul's experience in the Maritime Industry provides assurance to HUMARC's clients, that they will receive the highest level of advocacy, support, quality of asset, and unparalleled level of safety.
